Nigel Farage’s party have secured another council seat in Milton Regis as they oust Labour in the local election.

Nigel Farage is elated after his party Reform UK snatches another seat from Labour’s grasp.
Reform UK gained the Milton Regis Ward seat from Labour last night with 33.9% of the vote.
Kieran Mishchuk, who is just 18, has now become the party’s youngest Councillor, elected with 272 votes.
Mr Farage posted on the social media platform X his congratulations to the young candidate.
He said: “Congratulations to Keiran who is just 18 years old!”
Zia Yusuf, party chairman, also shared his congratulations: “Another Reform by-election WIN.
“Another new entry from Reform, straight in at number 1, and another huge swing (33pt) away from Labour.
“Congratulations to Reform’s newest Councillor Kieran Mishchuk, who is also our youngest at 18 years old!
“The future is Reform.”

Another win for Nigel Farage as Reform UK win council by-election.
The full results were:
- Tom Lee, Swale Independents People not party politics, 208 votes
- Kieran Robert Oleg Mishchuk, Reform UK, 272 votes
- Nicola Nelson, Labour, 200 votes
- Islay Joy Eleanor Walker, Local Conservatives, 99 votes
- Marc Wilson, Liberal Democrats, 23 votes
Swale Borough Council confimred that the turnout was 17%.
The by-election followed Labour councillor Angelica Valls’ resignation last month for undisclosed reasons. Ms Valls was first elected in 2023 and Labour candidate Nicola Nelson hoped to continue the win.
Milton Regis is a village in the district of Swale in Kent.
Cllr Kieran Mishchuk grew up in the neighbouring town of Sittingbourne, saying that he has “become more and more disappointed with the way that Swale Borough Council & KCC have operated.”

Reform UK recently welcomed Nicky Candy as party treasurer.
The 18-year-old says that “Reform UK’s values of ‘Family, Community, Country’ are really important” to him.
Upon election, Mr Mishchuk made a number of promises to the area’s people.
He said: “Regular communication with residents to ensure that all problems find solutions – I am elected by you, so I will work for you! Frequent clean-up operations in Milton Regis’ walkways/alleyways to make sure they are safe and clean for everyone using them.
“Work with Council Highways to look into speed restrictions to make our roads safer. Fight for investment for social areas for teens and young adults.”
He added: “Work with Kent Police extensively to fight against the rise in crime and ASB.”
